Terms of use
Last updated 19 October 2026
These terms are an agreement between you and Mayavis Private Limited (“we”, “us”), which runs ResearchBerry. By signing in or using the service you accept them. If you do not accept them, please do not use the service.
1. What the service is
ResearchBerry is a drafting and formatting tool. From the idea, notes and data you provide, and from published papers you choose, it creates a draft research paper with citations, diagrams and a reference list, and lets you revise and download it.
It is a drafting aid. It is not a substitute for your own reading, thinking, checking and writing, and it does not provide academic, legal, medical or professional advice.
2. Who can use it
You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter into a binding contract. You must sign in with your own Google account and keep it secure. One account is for one person; do not share it.
3. You are the author, and you are responsible
- You must read the draft and check every claim, number and citation against the sources before you rely on it or submit it anywhere.
- You are responsible for following the rules of your university, employer, journal, conference or any other body that will receive the work, including rules on the use of AI tools and on disclosing that use.
- We do not promise that a draft will be accepted, published or graded in any particular way, or that it will pass any similarity or AI-detection check.
- We do not invent data, but a draft can still contain mistakes, omissions or statements that misread a source. Citation details come from public databases that can themselves contain errors.
4. What you must not do
- Submit work as your own where the receiving body forbids the use of AI tools or requires disclosure you have not made.
- Use the service to copy, plagiarise or pass off other people’s work, to create fake data or false claims, or for anything unlawful, defamatory, hateful or harmful.
- Upload content you have no right to use, or personal data about other people without a lawful reason.
- Attempt to break, overload, scrape or reverse-engineer the service, avoid its limits, or use bots or scripts to create papers.
- Resell the service or its output as a competing service without our written permission.
We may limit, suspend or close an account that breaks these rules, and we are not obliged to refund credits used in doing so.
5. Your content and the drafts
You keep ownership of the ideas, notes, data and text you provide. As between you and us, you may use the drafts created for you for any lawful purpose, and we claim no ownership of them.
You give us permission to store and process your content, and to send it to our service providers, only as needed to run the service for you (see our Privacy policy). We do not use your papers to advertise.
Because drafts are produced by an AI system, other users may receive similar wording, and we cannot promise that a draft is free of overlap with existing work or does not infringe anyone’s rights. Published papers that are cited remain the property of their authors and publishers, and links to them lead to sites we do not control.
6. Free previews, credits and prices
- Each account has 2 free previews. A preview is the start of a paper: the title, the opening of the abstract, one opening paragraph, the section names and a few of the real sources. It is not a finished paper.
- One credit creates one full paper. Each paper includes up to 5 AI revisions and PDF, Word and LaTeX downloads.
- Prices are shown in Indian rupees and include any taxes that apply, unless the page says otherwise. We may change prices for future purchases; credits you already hold keep their value.
- Credits belong to your account, cannot be transferred, and have no cash value. They do not expire while your account is active. If an account is unused for 24 months we may close it after giving notice by email, and you may use or claim your credits before then.
- If a paper fails to generate, its credit is returned automatically.
- Refunds are covered by our Refunds and cancellation page.
7. Availability and limits
We work to keep the service running, but it can be unavailable, slow or change without notice. To keep the service fair and affordable we apply limits, for example on how many papers one account can start at once or per day, and we may pause new work when demand is very high. We may add, change or remove features.
8. No warranty
The service and all drafts are provided “as is” and “as available”. To the extent the law allows, we give no warranty of accuracy, completeness, originality, fitness for a particular purpose or uninterrupted operation.
9. Limit of our liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss of grades, degrees, funding, publication, reputation, opportunity, profit or data, arising from your use of the service or of a draft. Our total liability to you for anything connected with the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the three months before the event that led to the claim.
Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, or takes away rights you have as a consumer under Indian law.
10. If you break these terms
You agree to compensate us for losses, claims and costs (including reasonable legal fees) that arise from your breach of these terms, your unlawful use of the service, or your content infringing someone’s rights.
11. Other companies’ services
The service relies on providers such as Google (sign-in, hosting, storage and the Gemini AI service), public scholarly databases and DOI registries (Crossref, OpenAlex, Europe PMC, PubMed, DOAJ, OpenAIRE, arXiv and DataCite) and, when online payment opens, a payment gateway. Their own terms apply to their services, and we are not responsible for their outages or actions.
12. Ending your use
You can stop using the service at any time and can ask us to delete your account by emailing us. We can suspend or end your access if you break these terms or if the law requires it. Clauses that by their nature should continue (such as 3, 5, 8, 9, 10 and 13) continue after your access ends.
13. Changes, law and disputes
We may update these terms. The date at the top shows the latest version, and we will tell you by email or in the app about important changes. Continuing to use the service after a change means you accept it.
These terms are governed by the laws of India. Please write to hello@mayavis.com first so we can try to settle any problem within 30 days. If we cannot, the courts in Uttar Pradesh, India have jurisdiction, without affecting any right you have as a consumer to approach a forum in your place of residence.
